Bob Ona was born in northwestern Minnesota, a second generation American of Norwegian heritage. Dr. Ona is currently a Lead Pastor in Fargo, North Dakota and holds a BS in Bible and Pastoral Studies, an MBA in Church Management, and a DPhil in the Sociological Integration of Religion and Society.

He has served as a District Executive Presbyter in a church network, as well as the International Missions Board of the Assemblies of God, and continues to pilot Chi Alpha Ministries that raises up church-based programs to evangelize university campuses.

His involvement with higher education includes past service as the Alumni President of North Central University as well as current service on the Board of Regents at North Central University. He has taught at Oxford Graduate School, and serves as an Instructor through Perspectives on the World Missions Movement which was inaugurated through The US Center for World Mission.

He has served on the National Missions Board of the Assemblies of God, as the Alumni President of North Central University in Minneapolis, and in numerous church and parachurch organizations. He serves on the Board of Regents at North Central University in Minneapolis, and the Board of Regents at Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, TN.

Dr. Ona has a long history at Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, Tennessee having served on plenary committees leading to school accreditation, operating in advisory capacities, and currently serves as a Consulting Regent for the Board of Regents. His responsibilities make him a frequent visitor to the campus.

Dr. Ona and his wife Sharon have been married 44 years, have two grown children, and six grandchildren (all boys).
