Is there an application fee for applying to the graduate programs at OGS?
No. The application is FREE. There is a Program Entry Fee upon acceptance into a graduate program.

What doctoral degrees are offered at OGS?
Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil/PhD) in Social Research (Integration of Religion and Society) and Doctor of Social Leadership (DSL)

Why is the Doctor of Philosophy degree from OGS listed as DPhil degree?
We use the British nomenclature “DPhil” interchangeably with “PhD.” OGS emulates the British Tutorial Method for personalized, small-group, research-based learning, which we refer to as the “Oxford Method for Educating Graduate-level Adult Learners (OMEGA).”

What master’s degrees are offered at OGS?
Master of Letters (MLitt) in Organizational Leadership and Family Life Education.

Does OGS offer any professional certificates?
Yes. We offer a graduate certificate in Gracism Studies (a faith-based approach to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) transferable to our master’s degree programs.

Is there a writing sample requirement for acceptance into the graduate programs?
Yes. All prospective students are required to write a 1.5 – 3 page (750-word) essay, which will be considered part of the admission application.

What is the application review process at OGS?
Our admissions team initiates a review of a completed application after all required documentation, including supporting documents and transcripts, is submitted. Admissions criteria outlined in the Academic Catalog are applied to the review. After the review is complete, a prospective student is notified of the admissions decision.

Are there any scholarships available for new incoming students to attend?
Scholarships are reserved for upper core students currently in the program (second half of the program) after successfully completing lower cores. Incoming students may apply for the Tuition Reduction Grant, sliding scale tuition based on the prospective student’s income.

Is there a GPA requirement for acceptance into the doctoral programs?
Yes. A 3.0 GPA or higher in master’s levels studies is required for admission into the doctoral programs at OGS.

What is the academic difference between full-time and part-time? What is the financial difference between full-time and part-time?
OGS offers both full and part-time enrollment options to suit the needs of adult learners. Part-time enrollment means fewer courses to complete per term (semester) and lower monthly tuition payment. A prospective student may choose part-time based on personal workload or for monthly cost savings reasons. A prospective student may choose full-time enrollment to accelerate the pace of program completion, especially if cost savings is not a major consideration.
